The memory of 21 June St. Julian, the son of a pagan senator and a Christian mother, was born in the Cilician city of Anazarve. After the death of his husband, St. Julian's mother moved from Anazarve to the Cilician city of Tarsus [Tars is a large and populated city in the southern part of Cilicia, near the river Kydne, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea.
