The Passion of the Holy Martyr Serapion and with him Callinicus, Theodore and Faust

The holy martyr of Christ, Serapion, was a native of Egypt. When he was martyred, Saint Meletius came from Egypt and saw those who were being tortured with him and believed in Christ. For this he was arrested and thrown into prison, where the angel of God appointed him bishop to instruct those who desired to suffer for Christ.

On that day the priests, the officers, and the soldiers gathered together, and said that they also were Christians; and they stirred up the governor's wrath. And they beheaded with the sword Serapion of Epeus, and Callicnus the sorcerer, who believed in Christ; and they burned Theodoros and Faustus with many others; and they cut off the women and children of the executioners with wooden swords.
