The portrait of our reverend father Anubis the Confessor and desert dweller of Egypt

But when God saw fit to deliver him from them, he went into the wilderness, where he wandered in the wilderness, seeking God, and pleasing him, until he was old.

According to God's plan, at one place on the bank of the Nile River, which irrigates the land of Egypt, three desert men met one day: the abbot of Tyre, Isaiah, and Paul. When they asked each other where they were going, they saw that all three had the same intention; for each of them was going to the abbot of Anubis.

And when the people of the desert had set themselves on the shore, they waited to see if they might find a ship that might go to the place where they were staying; and when they had not seen the ship for a long time, they fell into despair, and said, Let us now pray to our Lord, that He may grant our desire and help us to overcome the obstacle in our journey.

And they said unto him, We believe that God will give us what we ask of thee. And he fell down on his knees, and worshipped God.

And the ship was driven, and the wind did not move it, and it was driven up against the current, and it was so swift that it took an hour, and it took three days, and it was a hard journey. And when the boat came to the shore of the tabernacle of the tabernacle, the fathers came down.

And they went from the shore to the monastery, and when they had gone a little way from the river, there came to meet them the monk Anubis, and saluted them.

But thanks be to the Lord, who has enabled me to see you both in body and in spirit. When I had sent them on their way, I told them all about their good deeds, how they had worked hard to please the Lord and how God had shown them his grace.

And he said unto him, My father, the Lord hath shewn unto us, that in the space of three days thou shalt be taken up, and that thou shalt be taken up, and that thou shalt be taken up, and that thou shalt be taken up again.

I do not remember doing anything great or glorious, but I have kept in mind, by the grace of my God, that from the time I confessed before the martyrs, during the former persecution of Christ, the name of our Saviour did not go out of my mouth with a false word. For once I confessed the truth, I did not want to say anything false afterwards, and once I loved the heavenly, I did not desire the rest of the time to love anything earthly.

"And I have been given the good things of this world and the good things of the Hereafter, and my Lord has not hidden anything from me, and my heart is ever humble before Him".

I have sought the Lord with all my heart, that I might see him with the eyes of my soul, and that I might see him with the eyes of my soul, night and day.

And I beheld the faces of angels before God, and the faces of the holy martyrs and confessors, and the councils of the monks, and all the saints, and the faces of those who had no other occupation in the life of the earth, but to praise and bless the Lord always in simplicity of heart and faith; and I beheld Satan and his angels, delivered into the fire of eternity; and again, on the opposite side of them, I beheld the righteous enjoying eternal joy.

These and many other things did St. Anubis tell to his visiting fathers for three days, not for vanity, but for the benefit of those who heard him, for he spoke these things with great humility, compelled by the requests of those who came.

And the voice of the angels was heard in the air; and so St. Anubis, who confessed the name of Christ to the Gentiles, and suffered for it, was carried from the earth to the heavenly abode.
