The Passion of St. John the Martyr
This holy martyr, born of the pious parents Theoclitus and Theophilus, was born at the time when the church in Amastris was led by the bishop Heraclius, and was named after the angel who appeared to him. When he was three years old, he called on the name of Christ and raised a dead boy, who then went out with him and was perfected in virtue.
